ARTIST STATEMENT
Having grown up in New Mexico and now having returned to live in the southwest, I find myself inspired by this harsh, yet tranquil landscape and those elements that somehow not only survive, but also thrive in this harshness. I feel drawn to interpreting that quiet tranquility from my found materials exploring how these can be used to bring a sense of honor and joy to the gifts of nature. My pieces are primitive, yet current to modern times, ceremonial and serene. My recent work has been exploring the joys of working with conceptual ideas and creating pieces that address these issues.
